First Day of Ramadan

March 24, 2023

Assalamu alaykum MSE Family,

Ramadan is here and we welcome it with excitement and gratitude.

In regards to our Ramadan schedule, we will not be shortening our school day and pray that He grants us all barakah in our time. InshaAllah, during the last week of Ramadan our students have time off  during the scheduled Ramadan/Eid break.

We encourage all of our students to fast for even part of a day so they can build their stamina and experience Ramadan fully.  With that said, we will keep a vigilant eye on your child to make sure that they are able to engage in their studies properly and not become lethargic or listless with the many activities in Ramadan.  After all, they are already engaged in the pursuit of knowledge which brings them closer to understanding their Creator and that is amongst the highest of worship.  Please keep the following in mind for your fasting child:

Fasting Students — Please help your child to do suhoor if they are planning to keep a full day fast as this gives them the necessary energy boost to complete their work and last the day.

  • If a primary child is fasting, please send in a note to the teacher and provide food for them to break the fast if needed.
  • Please keep in mind any child that has chosen to fast and is under the required age will be monitored.  If the student becomes disengaged from the classroom or is not feeling well, the teacher will ask them to break their fast, so please provide food for them in case this is necessary.
  • Staff will encourage students to make the best use of their time being engaged in the gaining of knowledge of Allah (swt)’s creation, reading Quran and by doing good deeds and we request you to follow through at home as well.
