Assalamu alaykum,
The month of Ramadan is nearing. What better way to prepare for it than getting into the spirit of giving and helping?! Our next community service project will be at Samaritan Inn, a homeless shelter in McKinney that currently houses 135 people, 44 of which are children! We and our children can take part in making someone’s life a little better! It is important for our children to not only partake in these projects , but to also see their elders doing the same. We wish them to embody the spirit of the Prophet (S) who encouraged us to “gladden the heart of human beings, to feed the hungry, to help the afflicted, to lighten the sorrows of the sorrowful, and to remove the suffering of the injured” (Bukhari)
Kids must be 6 or older to participate and there must be at least one adult for every 4 child volunteers. If you are interested in taking part, be sure to sign up immediately as there are limited number of volunteer spots allowed on one given day.
When: Friday, March 24th 9-12 PM (no school that day)
Where: The Samaritan Inn, 1710 N McDonald Street, McKinney, TX
What: Gardening

If you will not be able to volunteer on March 24th you can still help out. Our goal is to make 150 sack lunches for TheSamaritan Inn. This will be a great opportunity for the kids and families to give back to the less fortunate and to remind us all of the many favors with which Allah has blessed us! Please sign up for as many items as you would like from the list in the link below and invite your family friends to donate, just do make sure everything is individually wrapped. JazakAllahu Khair.
