Assalamu alaykum Parents,

I pray you are well and in the best of Iman.  Today, starts our first day of Winter Break, but the month of Rabi’ul Awwal is already in progress in which our beloved Prophet Muhummad (saws) was born.  The teaching of the Prophet (saws)’s character has already begun in our classrooms and we would like for you to encourage it more while on break. As homework for winter break, students have been tasked to choose an event or aspect of the Prophet Muhummad (saws)’s life, which they would like to present on.  They are required to produce a visual presentation as well as be able to orally present their findings and research.  They may need your help in finalizing a topic, researching information and coming up with a visual model that they can present.  Thus “homework for winter break” is not only for our MSE students, but their parents as well!

The due date for the complete assignment has been set for March 27th, 2017 which is a few months away.  The rubrics for each of the different levels has been sent home and have also been attached below for your perusal.  For the time being we would just like students to remember their Prophet (saws) and pick an aspect or event for further research.  The assignment is for kindergartners through upper elementary, however if any younger students would like to participate they may do so.

Until we meet at school again, (Tuesday, January 3th, 2017), may Allah (swt) grant us His grace, guide us and help us to raise our children in the best way to serve Him.  And may He help us to follow the example of our beloved Prophet Muhummad (saws).  Aameen.
