New School Campus – Excellence Academy

Welcome to Our New Excellence Academy Campus!

We are thrilled to share the exciting progress and developments taking place at our new campus location for Excellence Academy. Our commitment to providing an exceptional learning environment for our students has led us to envision and create a modern campus that fosters Islamic tarbiyyah, innovation, growth, and academic excellence.

Campus Location

Our new campus is located 5 minutes from highway 75, conveniently accessible from McKinney, Allen, Plano, Frisco, Prosper, Princeton and other neighboring suburbs.

Construction Highlights

Our campus will be custom built on a 12 acre property in a thriving safe neighborhood which allows us to grow and support the educational and spiritual needs of our community. Our campus provides adequate space for outdoor sports and other activities.

Fundraising for Phase 1

Phase 1 of the project will include:

Civil works which include excavation, grading, roads, utilities and other site preparation activities
Primary Building with 4 Montessori classrooms
Elementary Building with 5 classrooms and office space
Play areas and garden spaces
Basketball, soccer field and other sports

Phase 1 Timeline

Alhumdulillah, our civil plans were approved by the City of McKinney in September. We have received bids from multiple general contractors and are finalizing those bids. We are hoping to break ground by the end of January 2024. Civil work is expected to be completed in four months and the buildings are expected to be completed in another six months.

Update – February 22, 2025

Alhumdulillah, we have been making progress in the construction of our new campus. Since our last update, the utilities work (sewage, water, storm water and electricity) is finally complete, and the final inspection is pending from the City of McKinney. There were some extraneous delays in this due to some changes in the working crew and the cold weather, but all that work is now complete, alhamdulillah.

Next week, there is going to be the pre-construction meeting for the road construction (the roadwork within our land) with the City of McKinney, and then the concrete road and parking lot work will start, and it should take another 4 weeks to complete paving work, irrigation and landscaping work. The final grading will also start in parallel. The construction work on the main road CR 943 may require extra time due to the traffic regulation needs. However, it is likely not to have an impact on the building construction timeline. The final approval of the storm shelter designs – required for all new construction of schools in McKinney – is pending. After that, building construction will start once we have the approval from the City of McKinney, and we will then have many more exciting pictures to share.

Based on the latest estimates with the construction and financing, we are currently still planning to InshAllah start the next school year in the new building by the end of August 2025. We are very excited with our progress towards the next milestone in our journey and appreciate all your help and support in this growth. We will keep you updated regarding the timeline as we get closer to the finish line.

Update – September 17, 2024

Alhumdulillah, we have been making good progress in the construction of our new campus. Since our last update, the storm sewer work is complete and is in its final stages of testing by the city of McKinney. The electric company will also be starting its work this week and they will lay down the main lines to the transformer. After that, all the utilities work will be complete.

Final grade and then the concrete and paving work should be starting over the next few weeks and expected to be completed in 6 weeks. Along with the concrete and paving work, irrigation and landscaping work would also be done in parallel and completed. After that, building construction will start once we have the approval from the City of McKinney.

Based on the latest estimates with the construction and financing, we are currently planning to InshAllah start the next school year in the new building in August 2025. Update – July 28, 2024

Alhumdulillah, we have been making good progress in the construction of our new campus. Since our last update, most of the utilities work is complete. Sewage and water are currently complete. Work is currently being performed on the storm water sewers and InshAllah should be complete by the end of July. After that, during August we are expecting the concrete roads and paving to be completed.

Unfortunately, we lost a few weeks in our schedule over the last two months due to the heavy rains, but with hardship comes ease. Alhumdulillah, with the dry spell, work is ongoing at full speed, and inshallah the utilities portion is expected to be complete in another 2 to 3 weeks. After that, building construction will start once we have the approval from the City of McKinney.

Update – May 23, 2024

Alhumdulillah, we have been making good progress in the construction of our new campus. Grading and excavation work have been completed. Currently, work is being performed on the utilities where the sewerage system part is complete and work is starting on laying water lines and the storm water drainage. Utilities work is expected to be completed around June 10th.

Rain has interrupted work quite a few times but with His blessing we are still on track to complete the civil work around mid-July. After that, building construction will start once we have the approval from the City of McKinney.
