Our Faculty

Excellence Academy has selected a highly qualified set of the teachers and administrators that are both certified in Montessori education and well-versed in Islamic knowledge. We work hard to employ educators who share our vision of guiding children to develop excellent characters and who are passionate about their work. Further, we require them to demonstrate high standards of character themselves, including kindness, patience, empathy and love for learning.

Asma Ismail

Miss Asma is the administrator at the Montessori School of Excellence. She has been working at EA since 2014 and helped bring the school to our bigger location on Virginia Parkway.

She is always open to questions or concerns regarding the school.

Anjum Shareef

Miss Anjum is a Primary teacher (age 3 to 6) at the Montessori School of Excellence and one of our founding teachers at the school.

Miss Anjum has a BS in Computer Science and an MA in Elementary Education. She is AMS-credentialed in Early Childhood (age 3-6). She has over 9 years of experience as the lead teacher of the primary classroom at EA and has been a teacher since the inception of the school.

Miss Anjum is well loved by her current primary students (age 3 to 6) and has been instrumental in the foundation of EA since it started as a group of homeschooling parents to the AMS-certified Montessori school that we have today.

Miss Nudrah is the lead teacher for our primary classroom. She was our intern/assistant in Ms. Anjum’s primary classroom and now is the teacher for the second primary classroom.

Miss Nudrah has completed her AMS training and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education.

Lower Elementary Lead Teacher
Mahjabeen Fatima

Miss Mahjabeen is the lead teacher for the Lower Elementary classroom at the Montessori School of Excellence, and the 2022-2023 school year is her eigth year teaching at EA.

Miss Mahjabeen has over ten years of experience in Montessori education and she is AMS-credentialed for early childhood (ages 3 to 6) and lower elementary (ages 6 to 9). Ms. Mahjabeen also has a bachelor of science degree in Microbiology, a bachelor of arts degree in Education, and a Masters’s degree in Botany.

Miss Mahjabeen has six children of her own. Her two eldest daughters and one son have graduated from EA and she currently has three sons currently enrolled in the school.

Miss Mahjabeen is a favorite among her current lower elementary students (ages 6 to 9) and has been helpful in the maintenance and expansion of our lower elementary classroom.

Amani Elshatali

Amani Elshatali

Miss Amani is a teacher for the Lower Elementary classroom (ages 6 to 9) at the Montessori School of Excellence. She is AMS-credentialed for the Lower Elementary classroom.

Miss Amani joined EA in the 2016-2017 school year as an assistant teacher, and the 2022-2023 school year is her seventh year as a full teacher. Prior to joining EA, Miss Amani was a home-room teacher at Salaam Academy for 2 years, where she taught English, Arabic, Quran, and Islamic Studies. She has also taught Quran recitation (tajweed) at the McKinney Islamic Association and the Allen Islamic Center. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and was a science teacher at Khan Younis high school for girls.

Miss Amani is well-liked by her current lower elementary students (ages 6 to 9) and is a vital asset to our lower elementary classroom.

Ms. Amna Saleem

Ms. Amna Saleem

Miss Amna Saleem is the intern teacher for the lower elementary classroom at Excellence Academy. She joined EA for the 2022-2023 school year.

Prior to joining our school, she worked as a teaching assistant at various schools, including Fountainhead Montessori Scbool in Orinda, CA, and Sarah’s Science in Castro Vally, CA.

At Sarah’s Science, she managed the weekly after-school class “Toyology: Science Through Toys” for children ages 5 to 11 to facilitate STEM-based learning in local elementary schools throughout the Bay Area.

Ms. Rabeya Begum

Miss Rabeya is a Teacher Assistant for the Lower Elementary classroom. She started at Excellence Academy with the 2022-2023 school year.

Prior to joining Excellence Academy, she earned a degree as a certified nurse assistant and assisted school nurses with sick kids and helped organize immunization records.

Nafees Shareef
Upper Elementary Lead Teacher

Ms. Nafees has been with the Montessori School of Excellence since its inception.  She holds a BS in Computer Science, a Masters degree in education, and AMS (Montessori) certified.  She is also certified in the Albinese system. In addition, Ms. Nafees has had over 10 years of experience teaching children in the classroom.

Nusrat Mohammed
Upper Elementary Co-Teacher
Nusrat Mohammed

Miss Nusrat  has been with MSE for the first two years in our Lower Elementary classroom and is now our Upper Elementary Teaching Assistant since 2019 and is a co-teacher for the 2022-2023 school year.

She holds a master’s degree in computer science, an AMS credential in Lower Elementary and has completed her AMS training for Upper Elementary.

Mirna Nakib
Quran/Arabic Dept. Lead -- teaches Primary and Upper Elementary classrooms
Mirna Nakib

Miss Mirna is the lead of the Quran and Arabic department at Excellence Academy. She also teaches Quran & Arabic for the primary and upper elementary classes. She also currently teaches the Bayyinah in-school program at EA. She has been working at EA since the 2014-2015 school year.

Prior to joining EA in 2014, Miss Mirna worked as a part-time Quran teacher in the after school program at Good Tree Academy for 2 years. Prior to that, Miss Mirna worked as a teacher assistant and Quran and Arabic teacher at Al-Furqaan Academy for 2 years. She has also had extensive experience teaching Arabic to young students ages 8 to 12 as a private tutor since 2009.

Miss Mirna also has extensive education in early childhood development as well, with multiple certificates earned in Early Childhood Development and Administration, and has graduated with an Associates Degree in Child Development from Collin County College in 2012.

Miss Mirna completed the Bayyinah Teachers Training Course in the summer of 2016. As part of her ongoing continuing education, she has completed tajweed training this past year as well.

Ms. Amina Djeffal
Quran/Arabic Teacher -- Primary and Lower Elementary

Miss Amina is a Quran & Arabic teacher at Excellence Academy for the primary and lower elementary classes. She has been working at EA since the 2022-2023 school year.

Prior to joining EA, she has been teaching Quran and Arabic to small groups of students as an in-home tutor for children from ages 18 months to 9 years of age.

Miss Amina is fluent in Arabic and French.

Miss Hana is a Quran & Arabic teacher at Excellence Academy for the primary and lower elementary classes. She has been working at EA since the 2022-2023 school year.

Prior to joining Excellence Academy, Miss Hana was the Quran and Arabic substitute teacher at Good Tree Academy for grades 1 to 8.

She also taught hifz and Quran at Islamic Service Foundation, Brighter Horizon Academy, and IACC.

Miss Areej is a Quran & Arabic teacher at Excellence Academy for the middle school students.  She has been working at EA since the 2022-2023 school year.

Leena Sarieh
Lead Coordinator for Middle School and Math/Islamic Studies/Business and Homeroom Teacher
Leena Sarieh

Miss Leena is the lead teacher for EA Secondary Education. This is her fifth year here at EA for the 2022-2023 school year.

Miss Leena has a bachelor’s degree in computer science and mathematics and received a certification in Secondary Mathematics Education.

Miss Leena is also certified by the State of Pennsylvania in Secondary Education Mathematics.

She helped Al Noor Islamic Academy in Pennsylvania, developed the kindergarten curriculum and actively taught the kindergarten class.

She then worked at Al Fatih Academy in Virginia where she actively managed and taught first graders, taught reading, language arts, social studies, mathematics, science, and islamic studies, using lesson plans, and helped create a functional and interactive environment for the kindergartners.

She most recently worked as a math teacher at Noor Ul-Iman School, an Islamic school in New Jersey, since 2013, teaching middle school and high school mathematics.

Miss Leena has been with Excellence Academy since 2019, starting as a primary class lead teacher and has now been the lead teacher for our Secondary Education since 2020.

Syeda Ansari
English Language Arts Teacher & English Elective Teacher
Syeda Ansari

Miss Syeda is the ELAR teacher for EA Secondary Education.

Miss Syeda has bachelor’s degree in Commerce and a Masters degree in Business Administration.

She has experience in teaching English literature, leadership, social studies, and financial literacy.

Miss Syeda is part of our remote specialty team assisting in enhancing the education of our middle school students.

Miss Syeda has focused on teaching critical reading, reading comprehension, and English grammar to our current students and has achieved raising the STAAR test scores in reading of our middle school students dramatically over the last year.

Writing and History Teacher
Aisha Ali

Miss Aisha is the writing teacher and history teacher for EA Secondary Education.

Miss Aisha has been teaching at Excellence Academy since 2021.

Miss Aisha is part of our remote specialty team assisting in enhancing the education of our middle school students.

Miss Aisha has focused on teaching writing skills and has achieved raising the STAAR test scores in writing of our middle school students dramatically over the last year.
